i can take a video clip of it, but i need someone to host it
is it a display with color shine technology?
according to the us-site the v6 ships with such a panel. does anybody know whether the v6 ships with that display in germany or not? because on german site it says nothing about color shine. that would make me feel quite jealous

Hi Femtochemistry,

Is it possible to take some pictures with more daylight,They are a little bit dark..
And is the Color Shine technology lcd pretty to work with?

@ Tschaeck
I think the V6 ships to all country's with the same Color Shine LCD.
But, I haven't seen how the LCD looks..
You could mail asus Germany about it..

Have you upgraded the memory in your system yet? If so, what kind of memory did you use?

I just purchased my V6V today. Hopefully it will arrive by Friday.

Femto, could you tell me how snug your Asus fits in the Oakley computer sleeve. I was thinking about getting one of these bags for an XPS 2, however I don't know if it will fit or not. If the bag came with any notes on the laptop compartment demensions, could you please post those too.

Oh, and that is one elegent laptop, I may just have to go buy one.

Hi ppl, I have also fallen for this beauty of a laptop, but I have some concerns with the noise it makes. I would appreciate the comments of other owners to see if my machine is faulty or if this is normal.

If I plug the laptop to mains power the CPU revs up to 1.86GHz, no SpeedStep modulation, and therefore it gets hotter more quickly. If I just power on on AC and leave it idle for a while the fans (as reported by pcprobe 2.11) will jump to maximum speed (1700 rpm) and the CPU will sit at about fifty-something degrees celsius. The noise the fans make at this speed is quite annoying, much louder than my other Toshiba M200, and about as noisy as my desktop computer, which is rather worrying me.

On batteries however the machines does step down to 798 MHz, and simply typing this reply takes the CPU to 44ºC and the fan to 1400rpm, which is better, but by no means almost silent as reported by some other user, see http://notebookforums.com/showthread...599#post748599

Did anybody encounter anyhing like this? What is your experience with CPU temperature/fan noise with AC and batteries?

Asus V6V

hello, i have been looking at the v6v but like you pc fan noise really bothers me. does this model have small fans on the bottomside of the computer - probably near the graphics chipset? or is the noise from fans on the side of the machine? hope you have found a solution to the noise problem. any comments appreciated.
