BTW went into circuit city on the way home today to buy a case.... walked in with the laptop and wasn't long before a few employees were gathered around.....

Asked them if they had seen the LED's yet.... turned it on and the comment I remember is "Wow that's Rad man!" lol

Sickening! I can't wait! I just got into the boxing stage! I hope mine doesn't get canceled like others.

Thanks Rock!

p.s. keep those cigarettes away from your XPS2... it may hurt the screen lol

Hmm interesting.. the secnd last picture shows that the iXPS2 is using copper heatsinks... while the i930 is using aluminium heatsinks... I have a feeling the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra runs at a rather hot environment to command copper heatsinks...

Rock,

Could you post some full size pics on imageshack or somewhere? I would like to get a better look at it.

u can also try this, worked for me. several other methods listed in dell notebook faqs.

3. Registry:
Run the registry editor, if you don't know how (For Windows XP):
(i) Click Start
(ii) Select run
(iii) In the presented field, type "regedit" without the quotation marks and click OK
(iv) Look under the following field using the + extensions on the left:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY
(v) Hopefully you will see one of the following codes:
=> One with HTC will be the Hitachi brand (such as the HTC1C46 WSXGA Display)
=> One with SHP will be the Sharp brand
=> One with SEC will be the Samsung brand (such as the SEC3150 WSXGA Display)
=> I am not sure exactly what Toshiba will be (TSH?) So I will need some feedback here, including any other brands you all find.

Sometimes your manufacturer will not be displayed in the registry, and you will be faced with 4 or 5 "Default Monitor's"... we are not sure why this happens exactly, but if you find this is the case move onto another one of the methods.

You didn't get the samsung.

Either way you want to do it. You can start a big thread if you like.

Do you have sparkles?

3 and 4 would be good. Get the Logitech Bluetooth mouse/keyboard combo. It's great. Got a good deal on mine at buy.com. Thanks for taking the time to show us your new toy! What are your feelings on it?

Open up notepad and make it full sized. Look at the white color and then see if you notice any sparkle effect. If it looks fine to you then you have nothing to worry about.
