BTW if you look really carefully, you may discover that the top left end of the screen is slightly dimmer than the rest of the screen, especially compared to the middle. To alleviate the washed out colors, use digital vibrance, it works great. I found powerstrip wasn't even needed for this display.
Cool thanks for the tip.

Okay here's my problem:

After getting two bum Samsung replacements, I made a call to arrange to get a third one, and the rep refused to send me a new screen! He said "we only send you a replacement part twice, and after that you must send the system to Dell to get it analyzed and fixed"

Is this BS? I tried calling back to get a different person but the stupid CSR wrote must have written down what happened. Can I just call and create a new case? or will they know what's up?

How are you guys getting your 3rd and 4th screens?

Thanks,

Odie

I am going to try to use the "chat" option tonight to get a samsung replacement, and see which I like better.

I had Dell send me 6 new rubber bumpers that are around the LCD. They tend to not stick so well once you remove them.

Sounds pretty effective and concise. Can you please point out and post the following:
- How you would click to get to the e-mail option (Contact Us??)
- The exact text of your e-mail (that is what i really want)
- Where did u buy it from (SBS or Home?) and what kind of warranty u had?

PS: Please do reply. thanks.

On another note: Can I push out this replacement kit request before my i9300 with the LG (checked via the invoice /service tag thing) arrives (to pre-fetch and save time..)

Please do let me know. Thanks.

Is this switch really something you can do yourself? I want mine to look 100 % perfect when I'm done; given no experience with any plastics or glue or anything like that, can I do it? What exactly does it involve? LCD bezel = everything around the LCD, or the cover on top? "Peeling" also sounds very scary.

It sounds like the kind of thing I could do, but end up with something that looks rather crappy and home-fixed, not like out of the factory.

I want a replacement though; although at first I didn't notice it, I know see a definite graininess and light leakage. They wouldn't really bother me in the sense of making it hard to work, but it does bother me I paid $3000 and didn't get the very best.

got my replacement... K9922 , no mjr problems replacing the screen (thanks to 5150 Joker ) ... with respect to sparkles and brightness the screen is much better than the LG, however there is a nice large area of light leakage on the bottom. sigh. very glad i did the xchange.

... EDIT.... always nice to see I have a spare screw leftover. wonder where that went
