Same problem as you guys

I bought the 8104 assuming that I would probably not get one with such bad issues but guess what, I got an issue. I am having the screen flickering thing when I recharge. I read all of the pasts post on this but it doesn't seem to conclusively explain what the problem is nor what I can do to fix it. If I switch the battery and AC adapter will that fix my problems? I don't want to have to send it in to get fixed because it would take to long and I'd rather buy a different notebook. I am also having a problem with the hard drive or something in that vincinity making a high pitch whirring sound everytime I disconnect my mp3 player from the usb port. Please help me because I really like this machine especially at the price.

By process of elimination, you can assume it's a problem with the computer itself. Try a new adapter and battery, neither will work. Some have theorized the BIOS, but others have disagreed. I'm sure you can send in your computer and they'll repair it, but it seems to be acer's policy not to explain what the problem was. I asked for the computer to be replaced. I suggest you do the same. You'll have a new computer faster than you'll find a solution. Maybe a week, two at most.

when u mean flickers what do u mean ?? does it flicker on and off, or at certain points?


i get a flicker once in a while nothing a constant thing though

I think the new replacement I got may be experiencing that problem. How can I check? Did you guys let the battery run until 7% and is that the only time it will happen? So if i never let it drain so low I should be okay?
