In a few years, it will start showing age, and have a hard time keeping up. Overclock it then, and new life for the old beast.


These components are manufactured to such high standards so that they will last for 10 years and longer.. No consumer computer component will ever be used for 10 years. Yes overclocking will reduce the life by 2 or 3 years but who here plans to be playing games on a 6800 in 7 years time?

That's a negative. I played HL2 for 4 hours straight, non stop at 1920x1200 no AA, 8xAF, and everything else set to maximum. Both fans went on continuously, and the keyboard was mildly warm. The back and the bottom were burning hot when I felt them as I exited the game.

u will not be able to OC, but u can underclock when runing on a battery

i went into the DELL forum with the OCing issue, and that is the only responce i got...
