Definitely, I've been waiting for this to happen!

No way! All the ASUS people can talk in Notebook General.

I've noticed the upswing in popularity in ASUS notebooks within the last couple months on the forums (I've been reading stuff here for about a year). Considering the interest in these computers, how does everyone feel about creating an ASUS section on the site?

We've talked about it a little bit in this thread here http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=64772 as well as other threads I would imagine...the problem with it's own section is that threads/posts in it would get far less traffic then if they were in the general section...for example, eventhough I like Acer, I never go into that section unless I come across an article or something that I feel I should post there...

yeah i think there are too many forums as is

honestly, i love to chat asus, but a dedicated forum would just mean less traffic. i think that all forums except dell, apple, sony,.... all the big manufacturers should be in the general section. this way there would be more readers.

There are lots of threads on this already, sure asus is great, but notebook general is fun too We could just call it "notebook general/asus" lol

I think with the new models coming out, it would be nice forum section to have. There are a few other sections here that could be weeded out. Or maybe a combined Asus/Uniwill, plus "general".

I think your poll needs an intermediate ground because right now its extreme one way and extreme the other. I went for the extreme yes because I think it should happen, but I really not a fanatic about it.

Yah change my vote to NO.

THe traffic point is too important and Asus doesn't have quite the critical mass yet to justify the seperate forum.

I'm not a fanatic about it, either, but wording the poll with "extreme" viewpoints makes it more fun, in my opinion.

if traffic is the only thing stopping you guys from making a seperate forum for asus, i think it should be a definite yes then...look at the apple forum here and the apple forum on notebookreview.com and look at the asus forum there. Almost 8 times more posts and not to mention how many times more views. From a beginner's point of view they'll think that since acer, dell, compaq, sager, etc all have their own forums then they must be in the 'elite' league of namebrands with ibm, sony, toshiba and apple. And asus, is just a cheap, crappy, noname brand that can't compare. I know that is not the intention, but it does and will come across like that everytime someone new visits this site.

my $0.02,
c2k

I voted no, because of traffic, and there are already enough forums on here. If I post something, I want the maximum number of people to see it, and in the Notebook General area, thats where the maximum number of people will see it!

Just my $0.024 CAD.
