Klipsch Speakers

I started a thread in another section of the forums and didnt get many responses...

http://sagerforums.com/showthread.ph...3665#post63665

I am itching to order the Klipsch GMXD5.1 speakers (they are giving away free SWS subwoofers now) but I am wondering if I should wait for the Promedia 5.1 ultras.

Also - Will a Creative Extigy be enough to fully realize the potential of the Promedia 5.1 speakers?? I know that the promedias dont accept SPDIF and only have Analog input...so will the extigy provide the Decoding and analog output that they need??

I just want a list of things I should have to make sure that the Promedia Ultra's work like they should and dont end up as expensive stereo speakers.

If anyone can convince me that the GMXD5.1 speakers with the extra subwoofer also provide good quality loud/clear audio that can bring my movies and games alive...then I will order right now...

Im just undecided between the Promedia and the GMX series...

Perfect companion to those elusive Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1's...

I purchased a set of Klipsch 4.1 THX speakers nearly 3 years ago. I LOVE them. Well worth the $300 I spent. I think they are sold for arround $100 now. I reilise that your looking for 5.1 speakers but, the 4.1 work well enough. When will it end, next you need a 7.1 system, then a 11.2 and a 15.4.

I am just saying that Klipsch makes good equipment and have been doing so for 80 years. The only thing that I would like to see is a wireless reciver for the speakers so I don't have these darn wires laying across the floor in my living room.

As to the 8890 sound card... it is frustrating. After a few weeks I am slowly tweeking it and getting decent results. I got the signial intrefearance mostly taken care of and have surround sound once again. Now it is getting rid of the echo effect for peoples voices in DoD that needs to be fixed. It is allways something isn't it?

As to the Extingy. I do plan on getting one of those. I almost went out and bought one do to the signal intrefearance I was getting with the on board sound card. That has gotten better with some tweaking so I am putting off the Extingy for 2 reasons. First I have spent nearly 6.5k so far on my digitial dark room set-up (the resaon for having the 8890 for me) and I dread spending another dime much less money on an "extra" that is not needed for photography. The second reason is the 1.1 USB that the Extingy uses. I figure that SB should be comming out with a USB 2.0 Extingy sometime in the next few months. As long as I can get decent sound from my 8890 as is I don't mind the wait. When I buy things I expect and get them to last a long while. I would rather wait and get a USB 2.0 product then buy a 1.1 now and want a 2.0 later.

I am use to waiting. I got another week till photoshop is in my hands. Waited 5 weeks for my 8890 (from the time I had the money to buy a new system.) Waited 3 months for my home equity line of credit from my bank to get the money to do this (should have taken 3 weeks). I am still waiting for that hottie that I asked out on the last day of high school to call me like she said she would and that was only 15 years ago.... she is gonna call I tell ya. Yup, she is gonna call soon, some time soon!!

Best Buy will have them by Friday next week...I dunno about the local stores but I wrote to Klipsch and it looks like their online store will have them on Monday.

Looong time to wait

Well...at least we can read a few reviews and find out if it is really worth it.

If I get it I am gonna sacrifice my Sager paintjob

hey, prospective prices for the ultras?
Do you think this will cause the price of the promedia 5.1's to drop? What about the GMX d-5.1's they any good? Would these with the extra sub be about comprable to the promedia 5.1's?
