Fujitsu S2020 upgrade cpu?

wondering if i can remove the 1900+ cpu and one of the laptops i'm considering buying and replacing with a 2500+? socket A. i also would like to undervolt perhaps because i'd like the fan to come on as little as possible

the more i read it seems these are not the easiest to take appart, but i think i could manage. i just need to know if the cpu is soldered directly to the mobo, and if i can upgrade to 2500+. any ideas????

I think Fujitsu generally makes their laptops difficult if not near-impossible to upgrade. Look online for the manual corresponding with your product's model number, you might find something useful there.

that seems to be the case. ho hum. what about avertec or others? any other laptops that are easier to upgrade cpu? (especially mobileathlonxp

I think Averatec makes it possible and easy to do this.

However, in my opinion, the layout of the primary components (CPU, RAM, HDD) in their laptops isn't very good. They're all in one consolidated area with one cover. That equals heat.

yes. averatec rubs me the wrong way a bit. now, when we say "it's hard to replace the cpu on a fujitsu", do we mean "it will take a long time". or "it's impossible?

I really don't know. You'll have to look at their manual for your computer or contact them and ask them. All I know is that Fujitsu generally makes it difficult to upgrade most of the components in their laptops.

Another suggestion for a laptop might be an Acer Ferrari.
