Digital Video on the 5660

Hi,
Does anyone use their laptops for Digital Video manipulation? I want to buy a digital video camera and would like to see how other Sager users are using their laptops for this purpose.

Thanks.

This is what I'm planning on doing with my laptop, too. The set-up that I have in mind is an external firewire hard drive daisy-chained to my DV camera, though if they come out with USB 2.0 hard drives that can match the speed of Firewire, I might go with that.

Has anyone tried doing DV capture using the upgraded 5400 rpm hard drive on the Sagers?

Yes, I was capturing today. It gave me no problems. I opted to install an IBM 5400 rpm HD in my 5660, but someone I work with does DV video on his non-IBM just fine.

Nice! Then maybe I won't even need an external HD if the 5400rpm drive can capture w/o dropping any frames. I won't be doing any major projects on the laptop, so 40Gb will be fine for me. Thanks for the response.
