I don't understand what people are saying when they get only 1 hour and 15 mins form there 4760. I have had the laptop for 4 days now and I get about 2 hour and 20 mins with a fully charged battery. Default settings.

COmmon usage includes:
Searching internet,
Typing in word, including drawing diagrams and what not.
checking email via outlook.

I did this happily for 2 classes I have back to back at school, each an hour each. The laptop battery light starts flashing but the it doesn't turn off.

With winamp playing I still get at least 1 hou and 50 mins.
For me, thats not bad. I dunno where people are getting the battery lasts only 1 hr and 15mins

Try a DVD and let us know how you make out. Sounds interesting.

ok
To test battery life:
I just watched Monster INC all they way. (best looking dvd inmho) battery was at like 33% or somemething, no orange flashing or anything. Sound was on high, and I have the sub woofer installed so that was pumping out the music too.

However this was 1.5 gb Divx (5.5 pro codec) and not the actuall dvd. It was on my h..d. But the resolution of the divx was the same 720x480.

on a sidenote, the 4760's screen is not actual dvd widescreen. This movies fits perfectly on my mitsubishi 73" hdtv, no black boarders or anything. But on the 4760's screen there were small blackboarders, very small about 1 cm each. If the screen was actuall 16:9 there would be no boarders. In pan and scan mode, part of the image was cut from the sides for it to fit perfectly.

Other than that the laptop ran fine.

I'll try a 1 hour 30 min dvd after I charge the battery to 100% again. (this time an actual dvd using the dvd-drive)

That TV is amazing. I go to hifi-buys to drool on it. Built-in HD Tuner or not?

On my friend's 4760, there was noticable choppyness when Eminem threwup in the bathroom at the beginning of 8 mile. I don't know if this is commonplace.
