I have the shaking also in non-native resolutions.

not i...and ihave the beta drivers installed

shaking screen

My 5860 screen is also shaking on the right edge (plus I also have an annoying dead pixel which I realize Sager won't do anything about). bitch. moan.

I tried the beta drivers but they made all the gradations on the screen "band." I suppose that is what the guy above meant when he used the word "blotchy."

Has anyone found a fix?

Also, I have an older version of Half-Life that won't work. It keeps asking me to insert the cd even though the cd is inserted. Do I need to load a patch to make it work in xp? Anyone else ever face this problem?

Other than that I'm really happy with the 5860 so far.

*Sigh* ATI

Yeah, my 5680 has the wiggling on the right side of the screen too on any resolution but the native one. See, that's a reason why I've always preferred Nvidia over ATI, better drivers. Haven't tried the beta drivers though.

Man that shaky screen really sucks. They shouldn't have shipped Sagers with something like that. It's almost like you all have it, maybe it is the drivers. What is thenative resolution by the way? 1600 x 1200?

That is damn small. I'm glad I have my 5670, the 3.2 ATI drivers have worked great on every game and no dead pixels

BF 1942 is getting kind of old now, I need HL2 or Halo. BF 1942 is glitchy as h3ll but it has always been able to run for me online or offline. I am very happy with my 5670 but as I keep loading more and more games and demos, it is getting slow as h3ll. WTF? I have a 60 gig HDD but still have over 21 gigs of storage left. Is this what is causeing the slowdown?

I have all these programs like overnet, and steam Beta from valve to play HL: counterStrike that automatically load at start_up. How do I remove some of these programs so they don't load at "start up " and my Sager 5670 can boot up faster each time I turn it on? I miss the speed, and I'm wishing I had the faster FSB!

If you've noticed performace slowing down, make sure your drives are defragmented. To disable programs from starting up go to Start-->Run and type msconfig. Click on the Startup tab and uncheck any programs you don't want automatically starting up.

Just a quick question - has anyone installed linux and run at non-native - and if so is the wiggle there. Its one way of making sure its a driver issue.

It looks like the screen still shakes using the basic microsoft drivers

Thx TurboJ,

I defrag all the time, now only about twice a month though. But I use the sager everyday and emptied out all cookies etc. I'll try the start up "sconfig." command. And thx for the help.
