Need Info on New Asus Models to be Released

I have heard that there a lot of new Asus models to be coming our way. The latest is the W3 – which is beautiful! Do any of you have any info on which other models (not yet released) are on their way (names, specs, price, when, etc)?

Please, all you gamers, include even the lowly integrated graphics stuff.

Tried it, read it. For some reason I can't find any info on soon-to-be-released models.

I have read here that 5 or 6 new models will be comming out, but no specifics - that's what I'm looking for. Names, prices, etc. I need to buy a new lappy before mid-June, and am wanting to know if I should wait for anything spectacular, or buy now. I have even downloaded your (thanks- by the way) linked Asus E-Magazine.

There's multiple notebooks mentioned in that thread smilepak posted, the first post contains a link to a very reputable Asus notebook dealer...and further down there's a link with reviews/pics of them...they include the W3, W5, V6 and Z71A and Z71V...

The rokjok link in that thread is blocked here at work. I’ll have to check it out at home. I didn’t know it had all that info.

The Z71A is already released, the V6V is as well (as far as I know), the Z71V is essentially released, as well as the W3 (if it isn’t already). I’ll have to definitely check out the W5.

I have heard of the Z70 series, but can’t find specifics (esp. estimated prices), and understand of a couple more are to come.

So, excluding the already released, or very soon to be, any info on newbies to be coming up in the next 3 months?

Krimzin, thanks for the post. For a minute there I was afraid I wasn't making much sense.

I've been searching the web for this info, and can't find it anywhere. Asus is even slow to post specs of released machines on their site (it took weeks to get the Z71A on there). Anyway, there hasn't been much response to this thread, so I guess the info is even harder than I thought to get a hold of.

I'm sure that both smilepak and I understood what was meant by the original post...the two of us, along with many other members, work very hard to get the latest information out. We will often have it posted within hours, if not sooner, of it showing up on the internet. If you can't find what you seek either in the stickies, in the threads linked to from the stickies (i.e. all of the Discussion threads) or by using the search feature, then in all likelihood that information is not currently available...

...oh, and krimzin, you need to change your sig, before an "adios!" gets put next to your name.

I simply asked for "not-yet-released" info, clarified later by excluding pre-order stuff, and all I get is a self-righteous holier-than-thou response. Come on now. If you don't have the info, just say so. I've read the threads, starting a couple of months ago - the info wasn't there. Why do you think I asked the Q?

An ASUS reseller like ProPortable or istnc could probably give you the most updated info. istnc posts in this forum, and ProPortable posts in the Notebook Review ASUS forum.

Djembe, thanks! I was hoping Rick or ProPortable would reply (I think there are quite a few that would appreciate the info), but I guess I’ll email them directly.

Asus seems to be very quiet about their soon-to-be’s, and it’s driving me nuts! I would love to buy right now, but something spectacular might come out before July and I’d be bummed. Hey, maybe the M6 will come down in price since it is being phased out!!!

Ok, so I have heard from the good folks at ISTNC and ProPortable that they don’t have any info (specs, prices) on the soon-to-be released models. There will be barebones coming out from now until July, but Asus hasn’t shared any specifics. They will, however, be replacing current models (m6 - Z70, etc.)

Looks like I’ll just have to wait.

The good new is that I don’t have to buy until about July, so I should be able to see the full offering before I make my selection.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound self-righteous holier-than-thou...frustrated/annoyed perhaps, but not the other

Seriously though, I posted the second reply because perhaps with the exception of the A6 (found in the Turion Discussion thread) we've mentioned all of the new models that we know about, and yet you still seemed unsatisfied with the answers...also, in my personal opinion, while this is a perfectly valid question, a new thread did not need to be started to ask it. The question could've been answered by your own initiative, which you later took by emailing the two resellers...no worries though

Yeah, I was just looking for a little help. I guess when you look at it, every question here could be answered by the one asking, with a “little initiative”.

Anyway, I asked because you all seem to know quite a bit about the new models. I was told a while ago by ISTNC that a bunch of new models were being released, but they didn’t have the details. That’s why I turned to you guys.

I, too, was getting frustrated when my question wasn’t really being addressed. But, no harm done. The Q was not answered because not even the vendors had the answer. I was just hoping you might.

Herbie,

All of us are a bit reluctant about releasing info on any of the new ASUS product until all of the specs have been verified.
Sometimes there is an initial system spec release only to be changed at a later date. As soon as we hear of new product info we will make sure to post it
