another semi success story. I started feeling guilty so i settled at halfway.

Nicholas Bold 10:59:45 AM} I have placed an order recently, and when placing the order, i used a $750 off coupon. Now there is a $800 coupon available, and i would like to take advantage of it
{Nicholas Bold 11:00:18 AM} i mean the difference between the two, $50
{Shirley 11:00:27 AM} Thank you for contacting Dell Consumer Customer Care Chat. My name is Shilpa. You can call me as Shirley. Please allow me a moment to review your question.
{Nicholas Bold 11:02:33 AM} i am referring to Coupon code: PG4C$S21G58WSF Save $800 off purchases $1999+ of select Inspiron notebooks.
Expires: 3000 uses or 3-31-05
{Shirley 11:03:07 AM} Hi Nicholas, as I understand that you would like to have the coupon applied on the order, am I right?
{Nicholas Bold 11:03:33 AM} yes
{Shirley 11:04:53 AM} Please give me a moment, let me check on the records.
{Nicholas Bold 11:04:56 AM} alright
{Shirley 11:07:06 AM} I apologize for the delay in responding to your question. Due to the high volume of chats, I will be answering questions in the order received. Thank you for your patience.
{Nicholas Bold 11:07:16 AM} not a problem
{Shirley 11:07:22 AM} Thank you.
{Shirley 11:09:48 AM} Nicholas, as the order is already shipped out we will not be able to make any changes on the order.
{Shirley 11:09:49 AM} Are you with me ?
{Nicholas Bold 11:10:00 AM} yes
{Nicholas Bold 11:10:12 AM} the order does not need to be modified
{Nicholas Bold 11:10:38 AM} i could return the order to you and re order under this coupon, but i would like to save dell, and myself the trouble
{Shirley 11:11:04 AM} Well, I understand but the new coupon code cannot be applied to the order which is already shipped out.
{Shirley 11:11:19 AM} I understand your concern. The coupon is valid for any single online order from http://www.dell.com/ (Home & Home Office Section only ). The value of the order must be equal to or greater than the coupon value. Only one coupon may be applied to an order.
{Shirley 11:12:10 AM} I apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this matter caused.
{Nicholas Bold 11:12:26 AM} what i am proposing is that you reimburse me for the $50 difference between the two coupons, instead of you paying for shipping a new system here, and the old system there
{Shirley 11:13:57 AM} I understand your concern.
{Shirley 11:14:25 AM} Nicholas, for your satisfaction we will go ahead and credit $25 to your account.
{Nicholas Bold 11:14:39 AM} but this is a $50 matter
{Shirley 11:15:22 AM} I understand but this is the best I will be able to do being in the customer care.
{Shirley 11:15:35 AM} The amount is given just for your satisfaction.
{Shirley 11:15:51 AM} For verification purposes, may I please have your name, full address, and phone number?
{Nicholas Bold 11:15:54 AM} i suppose that will be satisfactory
{Shirley 11:18:43 AM} Please give me 2-3 minutes while I set up a credit in your account.
{Nicholas Bold 11:18:47 AM} sure

"My name is Gulzar. You can call me as Greg."
"My name is Shilpa. You can call me as Shirley."

WTF is this crap? I thought only strippers used fake names.

Dell apparently is very good at pleasing their customers when it comes to prices differences. I called last week because I realized that Dell Home with their 35% off coupon would make my computer $100 cheaper since they do not charge tax. I just called Dell SB to tell them the fact that the same system is now $100 cheaper and before I even asked for the difference, the rep already said, I will go ahead and give you a one time curtesy credit for $100 plus tax, so I got $105 back. I didn't think I was going to get anything since it was Home vs. SB, but I just wanted to try. And I didn't have to try too hard.

What strikes me about this post is the poster is proud of his conduct. I simply do not share his view. What he did was take advantage of people doing their jobs.

I do like the forums for the most part as they are full of information. Most of us have enough ego we do not have to share our special moments with others.

Hankamer,

Booooooooo!

With people like you tying up the phone lines and running up the phone bills, no wonder tech support costs in the industry are rising and quality is falling to the point that we are getting CSRs who can't speak good English. In your case, it wasn't even "support" they provided you. What they provided you was a way to happily steal money from them, money that you were not entitled to. Do you know what "expired" means? The $750 coupon EXPIRED after you placed the order. Your order was over and done with. That $50 extra was meant for a future customer, and you took it. So everybody go ahead and pat him on the back. HA HA... THIS GUY JUST STOLE $50 FROM YOUR POCKETS! HA HA! Seriously, if you are this anal about $50 then you probably need a job... Jeez.

I agree, it's just 50 dollars. Who cares if it is in the 21 day period, it would just be saying, "I would like the 800 dollar coupon, because I ordered my system 100 days ago, and the 500 dollar coupon was the only one available at the time."

It isn't Dell's fault, it is yours and you shouldn't be worrying about 50 dollars.
