Im typing on a new keyboard. - Page 2

Ive only installed a Game called EvE-Online so far and busy installing Halo and Dooms up next with HL2 on the way. I tested out EvE-Online and its beautifull. The native resolution works on most of the games ive played so far (lucky)

The heat starts up shortly after starting a game unfortunatly. It seems to maintain itself if anything though. Its a constant warmness to it. Im sure it would get hotter over time. If you have a link to a Tempature tracker id be glad to install it.

Have yet to hear the fans go wild.

I think the newer nvidia drivers have a builtin temp sensor - not sure about the stock Dell ones though. Try going to control panel>display>settings>advanced>6800 (or 6800 Ultra)>temperature settings. I'm very interested in seeing the temps on this beast. Thanks again for the quick replies.

hmm ya I looked there. Looks like the stock drivers arnt going to give me that tempature read out.

I played Halo for about 10 minutes and the bottom is oddly slightly cool. I was expecting it to get hot but im guessing Halo didnt push it as much as 3d mark did.

I can hear the fans if I place my ear up to the keyboard but otherwise they are rather silent. Keep in mind it could get hotter say with 40+ minutes of gaming. It seems to be running rather cool.

Im going to go to sleep while installing a few more things so ill awnser any other questions tommorow.

Hope what ive given so far helps you guys out there. Wether it quenches your thirst or gives you an idea of what to expect

Sleep? This must be a young man.

I'm not sure I'll be sleeping much when mine arrives.

Sorry no backpack, not the dell one anyways.

I am using a Targus bag to carry it around, with my school books. Tottal it weighs around 20 pounds to carry around with the books. Good work out

It fits pretty snug. Ifyou wont pictures I might be able to get some.

Whats the site for powerstrip?
Thereis a Quickset icon in your tray, kind of a 'S 'on a 'Q'. Left-click on it and choose 'xps gaming'. There you are!

Congrats!

Ya I figured it out after reading the user manual last night

I use all reds and sometimes a mix of orange and yellow. LEDS are really nice. Battery saver is pretty cool and I tested the battery out with max settings and went from 96% to 84% in 15 minutes.

so 12% every 15 minutes I belive on max settings would mean an hour (60) minutes should net around 48% of the battery. So yes even on max settings You could probally run a good 2 hours! Thats of course if the battery runs the same all the way through

To change the LED colors, right click on the Dell Quick set icon in the system tray and pick XPS Gaming Interface in the menu.

Yeah, I thought I'd turn them off... but I really do like them. It's fun playing with the colors.

I hadn't played with the battery settings; good info.
