From what I gather on this board, its probably true that the Samsung whites are better than the LG whites. I cant confirm this because I only have the LG. What I can say, however, is that the blacks on my LG are simply AWESOME!!!! Its almost liquid, and it just makes this web site look amazingly great!

Funny you should mention that. We were just talking about gray scales in another thread. I think the reason that blacks look so black on the LG is because it doesn't separate gray scales very well, so some shades look black even if they should be a lighter shade.

Check your gray scales here:

I love the colors on my XPS2 LG. It's a great screen except for that damn glittering.

I never said that this site was black, I just said that it looked great. It might not be black but it is very dark which is why it looks so good on my LG!

I have to agree the LG's blacks are about as good as they get. The first time I opened the command window I was like Whoa!

Man....what are we going to do when the color "green" just isn't as "green" as it should be?

yea i give that to LG , they have the best blacks and colors ive seen on a LCD, imagine if LG had pure whites, and a lil less sparkle , one can name it LCD of the year.

Funny the blacks on my LG are not dark at all, in fact everything is bright... colors are very pale... maybe I have got a bad one.

try putting 85% contrast and brightness on nvidia settings and mess around with quickset brightness. see what you get

I found the black... but at the cost of lots of gray.

See "Am I Crazy?" for some pictures.

This website is definetly blue based with blue-black and navy blue. It's the only thing I've seen on the XPS2 that looks really good. Hopefully games look just as good and I'll leave my text editing to my work laptop.

if you set the background of your text editor to black (like a command promt) do you see any wird stuff? (sparcle, shadow, etc)

I work on terminals all day .. so I will have black background it would be nice to know
