Canadians with XPS2 delays - Page 10

Right on, Elvis...congrats on getting yours...if yours was scanned on the 2nd, there's a slim chance we could get ours tomorrow here in Calgary. That's a pretty sweet little setup you got going on with that 24" LCD
post #182 of 335
Thanks. The LCD was in the box the whole time. I hope it works.

What resolution can you run with a 24" LCD? 1600X1200?

I did my residency in Edmonton. Greetings to all Albertans here.

However, I reside in Montreal and having dealt with Dell Head Office last week, it appears my laptop is no further along than what the website had been posting. So, in effect, I think I'm out of luck for the next 3 weeks as I leave on Thursday.

What really gets to me is after speaking to Puralator, the representative told me Dell could have arranged a special pickup earlier, ie Monday, and had it sent overnight. This really makes me angry.

I'll be having a few choice words now.

It really bothers me when I look into something and discover a more efficient way of doing something or a solution that should have been found by someone else.

But, really, this is a laptop that needs to be shipped. Is it that hard to arrange 1-day delivery?

The 24" should run at full 1920 x 1200.
Elvis...that's sweet...you can have two monitors running at 1920 x 1200...that's a lot of desktop.

Jay...has yours not shipped yet?

This is classic. The truck that was supposed to contain my order has been fully unloaded and my order isn't on it. Dell "hopes" that it is on the next one.

So, you still don't have tracking info?
That sucks... How can it show delivery for taday and not be on the truck?
Nope, still no tracking info.

It was supposed to be on a truck from Texas to Calgary, where Purolator would unload the truck and assign a tracking number to it. From there, Purolator ships it out. I've been told since yesterday morning that the truck is in, but that it is big truck and takes a while to unload and that as soon as my order comes off the truck, they will be able to get me a tracking number and an estimated delivery. My order wasn't on that truck.

Why would you have to wait until it hit Canada for tracking info? Granted, we get no U.S. updates (just says "In transit in U.S." until it reaches Canada) but we still have tracking numbers and stuff.

Am I missing something here?

Edit: I thought yours wasn't going to Calgary?? If it is, then I bet it is on the same truck the rest of ours is on.

Honestly, I've been told so many different things that I'm sorta waiding through it all to find some common ground. I have asked why I don't have tracking numbers and other people do and the answer I got was

I did check your order this morning and I can only say that I would have no idea why there would be waybill #'s assigned. I can only tell you the process is when the truck comes into Canada that is when the #'s are assigned,...
I have been assured today though that it is going to Calgary and not Toronto. Not really sure how they can assure me that when they dont even know where it is but.....

Ok, very odd stuff, but the good news is that there is actually a truck loaded with XPS Gen2's heading to Calgary. Yours is probably with the rest of ours.

I sure hope so. I was told that the next truck is there, just not yet unloaded.

Out of curiosity, where are you getting all this info, Dell or Purolator? I am so confused how they have no tracking info for you, yet they can tell exactly when a truck arrives, when it is unloaded, when the driver pees, etc.

Dell Customer Care puts me on hold and phones purolator.
Somehow I have the feeling that mine isn't on that truck to Calgary either....

Why do you say that?
Because I just got off the phone with Purolater and they say it's still in transit somewhere in the U.S. lol

Oh yeah, I didn't mean ours was on the second mystery truck that Fate mentioned. I just meant it was on its way still.
