I called Puro...can't be bothered to check with Dell...they can't track a truck on the road anyways until it arrives at Puro depot.

Called Puro to see if they knew when it would get here. The girl said exactly what I expected her to say: "It's somewhere in the US and it shipped on Sunday so you should get it Monday at the very latest. Once it arrives, you'll get it the next day"

If it's not scanned at Calgary depot by about 5:00am Friday morning, we won't get them until Monday.

Just noticed that as well. Tomorrow will be a good day for us... except for Fate. Sorry about that, it is really crappy. Hopefully you can get something out of it, or at least a quick replacement.

Update!

Well, they found my system. It's in Ontario, shipping ground across the country. Scheduled to arrive next Tuesday. I can't imagine why it would have been shipped to Ontario instead of Calgary. Wow, just.... wow.

Fate...that's good news! At least you know it's en route and you don't have to bare the agony of the build process again. You know what you should do...call Dell or Puro and demand that they send it by air overnight unless it's already on a truck.

It's already "In Transit." The 1-800 number for Puro can't tell me if it's ground or air, any bets? They just tell me that if it is ground, it's 4 days to get across the country.

Well, it's been a long time waiting, but it's great to see that we're finally getting our systems.

I honestly did not think starting this thread would get as much interest from you guys as it did, but I must say it was definately reassuring to know that I was not the only one with issues regarding getting our XPS2's.

Here's hoping that all of our XPS2's are better than we anticipated, and that we all get nice displays (and AC adapters, and OS CD's, etc.) You guys definately deserve credit for holding out this long.

I promise to take a bunch of pics tomorrow of the XPS2 itself including the LCD as well as size comparisons to my existing AOpen 1557GLS barebones (people were often asking what the difference in size is between a 15" and 17" notebook). I'll also try to get in a 3DMark benchmark, but don't know if I'll get to the games just yet.

I'm definately glad I registered on this forum, and can't wait to meet all you Calgary folks who are getting this same system.

Hey man, is that Saskatoon, cuz that's where I am. Last Dell I ordered this past Jan. my system got to Calgary at 5 ish pm and they were knocking on my door at 9 am the next day. Tomorrow morning good buddy.
