Canadians with XPS2 delays - Page 4

Right on, MooMoo...finally! You ordered a week before me so I'm not expecting anything to change for another week. You got the 80GB HD though...hope that's not the hold up on my end

Just got off the phone with my Dell Rep and he tells me that my laptop is going to ship this Tuesday. He can't tell me how he knows this, so I'm not sure how much credit I should put into his info to me

Let's hope he's right SATA...mine can't be far behind once yours ships

Well, good news, I think. Mine has apparently shipped. I am a little concerned though as everyone else's has shipped from Nashville, and in western Canada, went to Calgary. The CSR that emailed me gave me a truck number and said that the truck was going from Austin to Toronto. Cause for alarm?

You guys in Canada that have gotten your systems, how long was it after it was shipped that you got tracking numbers on the dell.ca site?

Argh!
I really hope this is the case for you. When I called yesterday, they gave me the same basic info that it was set to ship within a few days. I then asked them to look for any backordered stuff and they found the 60gig HD there, which I figured. So, then I was told the "15 day backorder" story.

Like many of you who call Dell often, I had gotten a rush order on the system from all of the delays. When I asked the rep about that, it took him awhile and a supervisor visit to find out what the deal was. What I was told was that the rush order was in fact placed, but because there was a backordered part, the system would not let the rush order go through. I, of course, was never told this until I pressed the issue.

So, his supervisor told him to place it again, but there were no guarantees that it would go through.

Perhaps it is just me, but I hope everyone else has better luck.

Sounds like good news. From my many calls it seems that all parts are in except for the 60gig HD, so you should be fine.

This is just another example of how misinformed Dell reps are. My Sales Rep emailed me that the hard drive was not on back order and that it was the "system itself"...such inconsistent information. I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm just glad that I'm not a Dell rep...I wouldn't want to explain delays when there's not much information.

Fate, does the order status actually say Shipped?
Yup, shipped with a green arrow. Ship date of April 1st.
Congrats...can you believe it's finally en route? So Tues-Wed you should have it in your hands...too bad they couldn't do overnight for you

I don't think it will be Tuesday or Wednesday. Estimated dates are April 12-14. I think the best I can hope for is next Friday, and I think that's a stretch.

printer that was a freebie when I ordered was `shipped` on saturday and got here by friday. things shipped on friday could go either way, depending on how shipped they really are by the end of the day.

Do you have tracking numbers yet moomoo? And what did you get for estimated time for delivery?

Thanks

if it shipped today, you should have it by next week sometime.... Did they send it via dogled???
They just may have. I hear where you are coming from, they give shipping dates as absolute worst case scenario and then when the customer gets it earlier he is happy.
FINALLY! Just checked my status and it's finally shipped! SAWEEET

Delivery time is est. at 11th - 13th....
Great news! Now how did you get an estimated time that is a day earlier than me? Do you have any tracking numbers?
Just got an update. My ETA is 04/05-04/07 of next week. Beat that one!
Not sure...could it be because I'm in Calgary? Where are you?

Elvis...did your status just change too?
Yeah! Just a few hours ago. I ordered on 3/3 and I'm in TO.

I'm in Prince George, so one day after the Calgary hub. It actually makes sense when I think about it. Do you guys have tracking numbers?
