I'm a dummy when it comes to computers. When I owned a Dell, I had to call several times, but issues were usually sorted out. The last problem - whatever it was - resulted in a dead machine, and, of course, it was out of warranty.

Used Tech support once with a Voodoo machine. That problem was fixed in about five minutes.

Except for the TIME spent waiting for techs to either answer, or return calls, I've had fairly good luck. I don't see myself fixing problems any time soon. Geez, that would just compound my troubles - probably beyond repair!

I used to do tech support, first for aol, then nec then sony.

I now drive a forklift for a living, I make more money (??? go figure, over 40k to do a monkeys job) and have way less stress. I can go a week without speaking to a single soul at work... so peaceful.

I've never called tech support. Did bring in a Sony VAIO portable to Best Buy to have the hard drive replaced, though. Took about two weeks turnaround time.
