Id like to ad one thing though. I emailed Voodoo asking them when they expected to have a Geforce 6800 Go Ultra in their laptops and they told me it was an exclusive Nvidia and Dell deal which would last about 6 months. I cant wait that long so Im glad I got this laptop.

BTW, thanks for all the info it helped a bunch with my decision.
If this is true, I'm back to the XPSG2

I don't like the sound of that! If for some horrible reason it is true can we expect the ati X800XT out for the Sager in the middle of May? I belive I read somewhere it is released on May 10th. Personally I would perfer the Ultra unless the new ATI has a huge performance gain.

Yes, and too the 3.8 670 CPU should be available in May. Put the Ultra and the 670 together and no Dell XPSG2 will touch a Clevo with this combo in gaming and in any other multimedia application!!!

I love how everything is supposed to be released in "2 weeks".

I hope they are correct if not sooner.

I don't need the laptop until August, so I can wait. Hopefully by then, AMD will be hooked up to an Ultra or 850.
Wow! 5 Grand! That is one nice bike.

well they also said they aren't allowed to give any further info over email. if i called them i would probably get a better answer, but i guess they dont want to put anything in writing cause nothing is for sure. i think that is a bunch of BS that there is a 6 month wait on the ULTRA. if that were true, why would clevo have a new mobo design for the 9860. in 6 months im sure their will be a replacement for this model.

anyway, you can play all the current games at max settings with the 6800 DDR3 so it doesn't really matter that the Ultra comes out in few months. I personally don't care to be able to put 3DMars05 6000 in my sig. By the time the new games will come out the Ultra will probably be out too. Patience people.

good point. if you can run your games on max and they look great on max, why worry about the ultra or x800xt? just to be able to brag about benchmarks?

Try Everquest 2 in 1680x1050 w/max settings during a raid.

Bring on the 6800 Ultra!
Everquest is not a model of 3d engine optimization .... I think it's more dependant of the CPU ...

deuch2k

That doesn't happen with the best Desktop cards atm...
You're at least a Generation or 2 of graphics cards away from that.....

Well, I just hope the ultra is out before I get my Tax return (filed last minute). I don't think I could wait much longer!!!!!
Any new info on a release date for the ultra? It's the end of first week in May and still no ETA? seems unusual.

Seems like there may be some truth to the rumor that Dell has a 6 month exclusive deal with NVIDIA

There is no truth to that what so ever. There is just 1 delay after another from Clevo... so we wait and twiddle our thumbs .
that's good to hear; personally I can wait through this so long as it comes through in the end
