ACER 8104 sound system

Thread Starter
I am the proud owner of the new ACER 8104, (got it for a STEAL on EBAY, 1575.00 NEW/SEALED!) I am VERY happy with this machine, NO problems whatsoever except for ONE stuck pixel on the LCD. No worries thus far. I just have one technical question, maybe this has been answered here already but here goes!
I have completely reformatted the HD to NTFS and reinstalled all of the drivers. Everything is working OK, but my sound system doesn't allow for any BASS or TREBLE adjustments, just volume. I realize BASS is a moot point on a laptop but I would like to cut the TREBLE a bit. The sliders are there but they are "hazed out" and inoperable. Is there a solution? Also the volume could be a bit better, a topic which has been addressed here in this forum. Is there a different driver I need? I used the REALTEK HD audio driver that came on the ACER system CD. Thanks for your advice on an otherwise near-perfect laptop.

Same problem here.
The sound is so low!!!
Need a fix. Hopefully they will sort the drivers soon.
