LG owners: what's you favorite color profile?

I'm still trying to get used to this damn LG LCD. The sparkles ain't great, but they don't kill me. Right now my biggest beefs with the LG are that it's not very bright, and that the default color settings are very cold. Today, I tried to match my 2405FPW, which is my favorite LCD. The default color temp on the 2405 is pretty warm, so this is what I ended up with using PowerStrip:

gamma: 1.5 (gives better grayscale separation)
brightness: -35%
contrast: -20%
temperature: 4900 k

Experiment with your color profile, and then test it out here:

Oh, man. Try my color profile above and then surf some pr0n. BIG improvement. I'm not kidding -- SCHWING!

Dellbert I knew you would come around on the LG. I love it and it is great in all of the color separation on that website. What is funny is my 2001fp does not see the diagonals So what recommendations do you have for the 2001fp?

Delbert. I am trying the color scheme you have, but man everything is greyish,

Nice, Dellbert. Thanks! I saved these settings as 'Dellbert'... you're immortalized on my Powerstrip.

Yeah, that's the high gamma correction. To my eyes, there are basically two problems with the colors on the LG out of the box: too cold (blue), and poor grayscale descrimination. Most people probably don't care about grayscales and like those "black blacks" -- if that's the case, leave the gamma alone, and you'll get darker shades.

In any case, dick around with yours until you like it.

Just curious why haven't you gotten a Samsung replacement for yours?

My whites are white my greys are grey and my yellows are yellow. With a few adjustments to Dellberts original setup... my screen looks atleast 2x better now than before WOoo

You know, as crazy as it sounds - maybe the LG with some tweaking is a better display than the Sammy. Who knows, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised when my XPS2 gets here.

Counting the days till April 20th.....

Well so far my thread about XPS2 displays is giving MUCH better hope for XPS 2 owners than 9300 owners.

Did anyone try these settings together with NVIDIA's digital vibrance settings? or is this adjustment strictly for making white colors white, gray colors gray?

Wow... I *love* the "cold" colors the LG puts out. The colder the better for me. I like it so cold that the whites almost have a blue'ish tint. hehe. That's just me though. Maybe that's why the stock LG colors rub me just right.

what settings you have on yours?

It sure would be nice if color profiles were made for the specific LCD panel to display good grayscale tracking, proper gamma (normally ~2.2) and corrected chromaticities for proper color hue/saturation to match SMPTE C @ 6500 as close as possible. Is this really too much to ask the LCD manufactuers to supply? Yeah, I know the answer to that too ...

Or Dell should at least pre-load their computers with porn so you can calibrate to skin tones. The LG made naked ladies look like they were in a morgue before I warmed them up.
