Like many others, I never really noticed the heavy blue bias. Now that I have this profile to compare to the original, it's amazingly obvious.

The hardest thing to settle on was the color temp. A couple clicks higher, say 5600, makes it a bit "whiter" I guess, but it starts headding back towards "blueish" if you go too far. I'll stay with 5400 for now.

Well-known optical effect: a blue push in whites makes them look brighter. That's one reason why most TV sets sold have a lot of factory-configured blue push.

Yeah, I've tried 5600, but the greys simply look perfect @ 5400. That's where I'm staying.

Load Powerstrip and tweak the settings to match your Spider calibration as closely as you can and then post your results. A "best guess" from a professional eye should be good enough for the masses.

The quest for a less subjective color profile was what led me to trying the software. You could essentially put the lid on this thread with your results.

Or not.

I guess the main difference is that you need the colors to be correct, we just need the to look good, and as long as they do, we are happy even if they are all wrong

Got a new screen, an LG one and loving it. Although its darker, colors richer.

How do I find out what model it is? Powerstrip says LG00001 or something like that

The default color temp on the 2405 is pretty warm, so this is what I ended up with using PowerStrip:

gamma: 1.5 (gives better grayscale separation)
brightness: -35%
contrast: -20%
temperature: 4900 k

Experiment with your color profile, and then test it out here:
