Inspiron 8500 Refurbs - Thoughts?

Thread Starter
I've been checking out the Dell refurb site daily and have seen some 8500's with 1024/60 and WUXGA going for sale in the $1700 - $1900 range.

Anyone have any experience with Dell refurbs? They seem to be selling pretty quickly since the ones I see are usually not available later in the day.

i would have bought an 8500, but none of them had a video card w/ more than 32mb

Well they have at least one more since I shipped back my Inspiron 8500. It was a P4 2.6, 512mb, 40GB, 802.11/a/b/g, WUXGA screen. I wasn't too impressed with it.... and the screen was actually too high res for my tastes. When I called Dell I was also disappointed with how much their customer service has went downhill. (I didn't use their tech support but have since heard similar things) Looks like farming support out to India wasn't such a great idea afterall......

i've ordered 5 dell refurbs in the past. all very good experiences.

3 of those orders have been notebooks, and none of them looked "used", and none of them had any dead pixels.

if u dont get a latitude, make sure u opt for the 3 yr onsite with the inspirons. (lats come by default with 3 yr onsite)
