Components Brands?

Does any body know where I can find the brand names of the components installed in the 5660 and 8886? I saw a lot from the review, but I was wondering about the addons like the spare harddrives, WFII cards, etc.
Also, do you think prices will come down in Febuary if the new stuff hits the market? Thanks for all replies.

There is usually a price adjustment every month and most of the time down. The wireless used is Connect gear, but there has been a problem with Connectgear access points so what we have been doing is using the ConnectGear PCMCIA cards and if someones orders the AP and PCMCIA, we send the Linksys WAP11 and WPC11. The hard drives used from all I've seen are IBM and Toshiba. Let me know what ect you want to know and I'll try to find out for you.

why do some resellers supply a 16X10X24 CDRW/DVD drive and other 24X10X24? Is there really a difference? Thanks

Some resellers haven't changed to the newest one because they need to exhaust their supply of older ones. The 24x burner is faster than the 16x burner... one is at 2400KBps and the other is are 3600KBps... so after many seconds there's a HUGE difference. If you will be burning cds a lot, the faster one is a must :-) I have an 8x on my own lappy and it sucks sitting there waiting for it, lol. Best of luck to you!
