When windows has loaded, go to control panel-system-hardware and then device manager, and uninstall the driver for the card reader. Now take off the memory stick and insert it back in.. windows should detect the card reader as a new hardware so then just point it to instal from the driver recovery cd..
Lemme know if it works out for u or not ..
I tried this, and when I tried pulling out my memory stick duo from the card reader it went BSOD on me again. This is very frustrating.
Anyway I took out the 5400 drive on this thing and I swaped in my 7k60, reformated and did everything fresh from the recovery CD's. Tried putting in the Memory stick duo pro. System crashes. Okay so I uninstall the drivers and reinstall, system crashes.
Basicly everytime I try to put in the Memory Stick duo pro during windows it crashes. Everytime I try to take it out during windows, it crashes. But when I put the Memory stick duo pro in while the system is off, windows is able to detect it when I open it up. What the holy hell is going on?
I'm trying to install a modified version of Windows XP professional now, i'll reinstall all of the drivers from scratch after it's done. Somehow I suspect the recovery CD's because it's installed with ghost. If for some god forsaken reason that I cant get this card reader to work then I'm sending it in for an RMA.
Overall I am quite unhappy with how it's turning out right now. The system itself is beautiful, the screen is beautiful but all these errors I am getting is starting to get on my nerves.
