Asus Warranty

Hey everyone, first of all, this is a great forum! I'm contemplating buying an Asus Z71V from RJTech; this will be the first time I've purchased a laptop from a reseller (have had a Dell Inspiron 8000 for the past 4 years) and am curious as to how the warranty works? I know the 3-year Asus plan covers the barebone system, but what about the configurables such as the hard drive, etc... Do these have seperate warranties through their individual companies? Basically, would I call the reseller if I had a problem with the machine or the reseller? How is Asus's customer service reputation? How about RJTech? I've seen good things written about IST and Proportable, but they seem to be out of the 60GB 7200RPM harddrive I am interested in.

Thanks for your help, any info would be greatly appreciated!

your warranty for the add'l parts would be through the manufacturer of those parts for instance the hdd is a hitachi so it has a hitachi warranty, the memory maybe from corsair or samsung or infineon you'll have a warranty there - but ram is almost always lifetime warranty so you should be cool there, HDD is gonna be like a 2 or 3 year warranty...

optical may or may not be asus branded probably gonna be a panasonic or something... prolly a 2 year on that

yah well thats all for now

if the laptop chassis (asus z71v) did not fail but a part installed by the reseller you'd call the reseller i think.

Cool, thanks for the info. So I guess my next question would be which Asus reseller(s) have people had the best experince(s) with? I've just been browsing around and found that Star Tech will also have a shipment of the Z71v's coming in soon. They have a great rellerratings.com rating, but I just thought I'd check here also.
Thanks
