BIOS Flash

Okay, so I'm trying to update my BIOS and I had Sager send me the newest BIOS for the 8790. I'm having a problem installing it though. I followed their instructions.... burned it to a CD and then started my laptop up with the disc in the computer, but it still doesn't seem to be loading.

What am I doing wrong?

what was your solution to the bios update? I'm currently trying to update itbut it doesn't seem to be working. (most likely something small I'm missing)

The file should be zipped or RAR'd. WHen you extract it you should have one ISO file. IF you have more than that, then the files in the ISO were extracted and that is NO GOOD. If that happened, try right clicking the ZIP file and have it extract that way.

After you have a single ISO file, you will need to burn it to a CD-R/CD-RW AS AN IMAGE FILE (Not Data) and boot from that CD (Likely you will need to change boot sequence). After boot, you should be in a DOS session. Just follow the directions and when the updae has completed, removed the CD and reboot. Check you BIOS settings to make sure that nothing got changed.

If you need the ISO file, I can e-mail it to you, PM me with your email address.

I figured it out

Yeah, I realized that it needed to be extracted and then burned on a disc. Still didn't help though and I had to RMA the laptop anyways. It is in Cali as I type this... hopefully being worked on. I suspect that the RAM has gone bad in it.... I just hope that the whole mb isn't gone... Thanks for you help though.
