I have a normal Columbia backpack.
Fits just fine along with my books.

Looks 100% A-Ok also.

I'm getting the Dell Notebook Case with my 9300, but in the meantime, if one of you generous souls with that case and a camera could post a small review and pics it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I like it. It's a very nice fit for the 9200/9300/XPS2, but I wouldn't recommend it for the XPS2 since the XPS2 power brick is so large. Well made, lots of pockets, zippers, velcro, etc.

Dellbert, could you post some pics of the inside of the case?

Is there room for books/files etc in addition to the laptop? Thanks!!

Eh, I'll describe it to you. Laptop fits snugly in base of case. It tucks into a pocket about 6-in deep. Gets strapped in with velcro. Thick padding along edges of lappy.

In the inner lid of case are three large pockets. One that spans the entire case, and two more that each span half the case.

Outer lid has a velcro'd flap covering a zippered pocket. Pocket is about 1-in deep and has zippered mesh bag in flap, and the 1-in deep well has space for an AC adapter, a couple pens, a couple PDAs, and a box of condoms.

Outside of the base is an open pocket (with a big hole in the bottom!), a large zippered pouch, and two smaller side zippered pouches.

Finally one mesh pocket on one of the edges of the case.

Carrying a few files, a pad of paper, pens, etc -- no problem. Books -- probably not.

I don't yet, but generally I prefer backpacks, and will most likely get one for the XPS2 too. (If I end up buying one.) The reason is with all my travelling I usually have a suitcase in one hand, other stuff to carry in the other, like a guitar, and a backpack gets the computer nicely out of the way. And a good backpack is roomy and holds all my cables and international adapters, my books for reading on the flight etc.

Anyone want to share their opinion on the XPS 2 backpack? Bat Boy?

Yeah, the Targus XL is not the coolest looking backpack, but it is very functional. If you're going on a 2 day trip there's enough room to stuff in the clothes you'll need as well as all your geek-out equipment, and when you don't need the space, it collapses pretty well. I think Targus stuff is pretty well constructed, too.
