Down to a few choices for a bag and backpack
Ok folks, I am looking for 1) a good backpack because I mainly schlep the 9300 around for causal use and 2) a thin case for when I would need to take it to a business meeting. I went to a few stores with my new 9300 and had a "put it in and see if it fits" testing day (at the same time warding off the salesman who may think I'm a helpless girl - I look younger than I am
I went into Best Buy, Comp USA and Circuit City. Neither store has the largest selection, fyi. Anyway, I tried the Targus XL (WAY too freakin big - I am 5 foot tall) and the Targus CityStyle Chigago. When I put the 9300 into the XL it actually had room to spare; so much so that it wiggled when I shook the bag. The Chigaco bag says it's for the 15.4 in screen. My laptop fit snugly in. Yes, I had to be careful when zipping the bag closed but it wasn't poking the top of the bag or anything like that. It felt more sung and secure in the 15.4 bag. I actually liked it better because it looks more like a regular bag, was a meduim size, and had a zillion pockets. I also liked that the laptop was in it's own section. I tried a Samsonite where there was one main section. Didn't like it. Granted for the bag I liked there wasn't that much top protection, but it seemed most of the ones I have seen don't have too much, besides if you drop the backpack on it's head you would probably be screwed anyway.
Someone mentioned that the bag may pull when loaded with crap. Does anyone actually have the Targus Chicago bag or at the very least think it probably wouldn't be a problem.
Here's a link to the Targus Chigaco Backpack I am eyeing (Q: Has anyone dealt with buy.com or ebags before?) http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...369845&loc=101
As for the mentioned thinner case that is more towards professional use, here are a few I am considering. I really just need room for the laptop, power supply, mouse, and maybe a few papers or cd's. More like a hybrid between a sleeve and a messanger bag. I would like this to be the budget bag seeing how it won't be used as often. And yes, I will avoid the rain.
