Ever get a piece of hardware for free that was awesome?

Well I did today. My uncle got a new multi-function machine because his "old" one wasn't fast enough for his business....... so I got the "old" one. It turns out to be an HP Officejet K-60 w/only 1500 pages on the clock. The sucker is in mint condition..... so I hook it up on my PC, load the Win2k software from the HP site and everything runs great. More than good enough for my meager home use. Not many days where I get this lucky.

Hot Luck, that's a real good bit of fortune.

I have a K60, nice machine, does it all, though I agree with your uncle, its a bit slow for any size of office. Still and all, it does a great job. Plus it uses the 45 cartridge instead of that new 15 that has only a third the ink for the same price as the 45. Well, as they say, given what they make on the ink cartridges, they should bloody well give the machines away.

I checked the ink levels..... the color is almost full. The black will need replaced soon but still works fine for now. I'll have to pick some some cartridges. I remember the 51645A well enough. My old HP Deskjet 1200C used the same black cartridge. This thing does a much better job on color photos though since it has Photoret III. I'm very satisfied..... especially for the price.

$15 doesnt exactly qualify this find as free, but considering it was a 17" flat crt in mint condition, $15 is free to me. danm i love Goodwill. bought it sunday on my way to dadio's place, gave it to him.

I've gotten a few systems over the years. from a 166 to a 750. All good for one thing or another. I just retired the 166 to that computer desk in the sky.

How long do you guys tend to hang onto all equipment? I'm pretty bad about throwing stuff away, but not as bad as some guys I know.

Two car garages are meant to hold TWO cars, not a garage full of junk computers....

One night this crazy lady came up to me on the street with some huge old HP in a shopping cart and said "Here I found this next to the dumpster!"

Totally useless it had only like a 50 MB hard drive in it. Sounded like a jet engine when I booted it up.

HAHAHAHAHA awesome

I am currently helping my friend build a desktop and he is going to give me an extra 40GB 7200 RPM Western Digital HD for free! He really doesn't need it for his desktop, what with his dual 200GB hard drives, haha.

I'll take it!

No matter how big the HDs are these days, 40Gig is still not pocket change!!!! You lucky .... . Get an external enclosure and hook it up to your Sager
