How would you rate Fujitsu N3510???

Hi guys,

I am seriously considering purchasing a notebook sometime next week and so far I am inclined to purchase N3510. But due to the fact that this notebook hasn't been out for long, I haven't been able to find enough user reviews on this notebook. The only thing that bothers me about this notebook is its weight, 7.5lbs... Is this too heavy to carry around everyday to school??

If you have alternative suggestion(other laptop that has similar spec) please let me know.

Thanks.

Fujitsu is a good company (from what I heard) and the screen look good but 7.5lbs is very heavy for a 15.4", the screen resolution is only WXGA and it's a bit pricy for a laptop with only a Ati x300...

If you give use your budget and needs, we can suggest you a mutch better laptop.

Thanks.

My budget is up to US$2000. I would like to purchase a best notebook that doesn't hinder my day to day mobility to class rooms and that doesn't compromise performance for weight.

I would also like some laptop suggestions, I am in the exact same situation as ahkuh. I was looking at the N3510, and 7.5lbs doesn't seem that heavy to me because I carry around like 20lbs worth of books everyday, but if you know of a better one for less I'm all ears.

The Asus z71v seem to be the best laptop for now in terms of power/battery life/weight/price balance.

It may be a bit more powerful that what you're looking for but it's price is very low. Compare to it, 90% of the other laptops are overpriced.

Pentium M (Dothan 533FSB) 1.6 to 2.13 GHz
It got about 4~5 hours of battery life and a option for a second media bay battery.
1 lbs less than the Fujitsu N3510 (6.5 lbs)
WSXGA+ screen
Good place to buy:
www.istnc.com,
www.proportable.com,
www.rjtech.com.

Reviews should start popping next week.

Other good light laptops would be the compal cl56 and asus M6NE/M6BNE
They are a bit lighter, use 400FSB Pentium M and the gpu is still a lot more powerful that the x300 but also a lot weaker than the nvidia 6600 & ati x700

Well, unless they fixed the video issues in the newer N3511, I wouldn't get it. I have one now, and it worked great for months until the X300 started to malfunction. You can search the forums, and find one other user here who had the same issue. :-(

Other than that ONE issue, it's a great unit. However, if something like that acted up after the warranty, you are stuck with a unusable unit.

The screen is low resolution, but the actual brightness and screen quality is top notch, better than any other Fujitsu, Sony, Toshiba, you name it out there. You've gotta compare these side by side in the stores to see the difference.
