Sager NP8886 with P4 3.06GHz

Any one know when the new Sager NP8886 with P4 3.06GHz will be available. Will it come with HTt technology? Has any one heard of the dates or a price drop coming on the older P4. Thanks for the help.

Not sure of a date, but from the sidelines hoping for next month with HT enabled.

I would go with next month as far as HT is concerned. Sager has to work out the issues that come with more power consumption (HT processors suck power more than regular P4s do... who knows what will happen to battery life and how Sager will deal with that aspect) and of course with power consumption comes heat. I hope it works out, though :-) And if anyone can/will do it, it'll be Sager :-)

well i think anybody who seriously considers getting the ht on a laptop shouldnt even worry about battery life concerns, with ht youd be much better off using it as a desktop replacement most of the time and plugged in... I imagnine ht enabled 1's will probaly have an option in bios to switch it out possibly and if so you could just switch it off to squeak out a little more battery life.. Im thinking with ht enabled battery life would be close to nil

Agreed... cuz HT enabled processors require a second power connection. I'm curious to know how they're squeezing that into the 8886... and how they'll be able to do it in the 5660 (as alienware claims they have, lol).
