You can get somthing like that in stores these days, the only thing you might have trouble with is that 32/64mb video card...

i recommend looking at the ads in the sunday newspaper. But the thing is, p4s and centrinos at the price are very likely going to come with like intel extreme graphics or something on par with that. For 32-64mb video, u might have to up your budget to around 1000 if not over.

If you can raise your budget by 400-500 we can talk

For $825.00 plus shipping you can have my ECS Green 732 laptop
with 40GB HDD Radeon 9000 64mb, 256 PC2700, P4 @2.66MHZ.
Its absolutley mint and I very seldom used it. Screen is actually very nice and perfect as well.

Inspiron 6000

I just got a refurbed Dell Inspiron 6000

1.3 Ghz Celeron M
256 MB Ram
30 GB HDD
Internal wireless
DVD Romm
1260*800 Widescreen
Intel integrated graphics

I'm not quite ready to sell it yet, I've got a broken iBook that I plan to use once the parts for repair get here. So I was just wondering if you were interested. LMK

I could swap the CPU for a 1.5 GHz Pentium M, but that would cost extra
post #11 of 19
You could get something like you wanted in that budget quite easily. About four months ago, I purchased a dell 8200 off ebay for $535 shipped. It had a Pentium 4-m 1.6GHz
512 MB PC2700 RAM
30 GB Harddrive
32 MB GeForce4 440Go
15in UXGA screen
2 USB ports
Added an internal wireless card for about $25
Battery life was about 3 hours

This was four months and still about $100 less than your budget. There are probably many computers out there that have the specs you want at the price you are looking for.

be careful when purchsing on ebay especially a laptop. i know a friend who recently got scammed out of a 1k+ laptop. remember to make sure the person has a lot of feedback. It would be nice to check their history of sales too. so if they've been selling cheap laser pointers and all of a sudden they're selling a laptop, theres something fishy.
