Best laptop for under $1200CDN - Acer Aspire 1363WLCI or Travelmate TM4002?

I'm planning to buy a laptop for everyday use, web surfing, music, movies, word processing, burning cds. I won't be doing any gaming or video processing, so a laptop around $1000-1200CDN sounds about right.
After doing some bargain hunting, it seem the best value for the price is the Acer Aspire 1363 ($1109 CDN) and the Travelmate TM4002 ($1188), both are similar in price but different in specs.

Acer Aspire 1363WLCI: $1109 CDN

How does the two processor matchup against each other?
Which graphic card is better?

Feel free to recommmend any other laptop that is in my price range.

Between them best choice would be a mix of the 2. The travelmate will perform better but the screen resolution is too low and widescreen formats would be better IMO. The screen tilts my favor towards the Aspire.

Seeing your usage I would say the Sempron will do the job well.

edit: Are you sure the travelmate has an XGA screen...

I think the only thing going for the Aspire is the Crystal Bright screen if you like the glossy look. The Travelmate 4002WLMi should be a 15.4" WXGA same as the Aspire. The Aspire is heavier and thicker then the Travelmate and will have less battery life. And according the the Acer spec page the Aspire only has a "Mono headphones/speakers/line-out".

Just a quick update, guess my search for a laptop will continue.
I decided to take the plunge and buy the Travelmate, I called the store to check the inventory. There was three in stock but they've already been reserved, special order will take a week. He then mentioned it was a conditional sale, upon further inquiries it turns out conditional sale mean it's a open box (display model).
No wonder the price was well below the competitions. I'm a little tick off that they neglected to mention it was a open box on the website, I feel sorry for the people who ordered one just to find out it was used.

If anyone know of a hot laptop deal in Canada, preferably in Toronto that's in my price range, please post it here. TIA
