quick one guys.... while im waiting for my xps2 ive been researching drivers im gonna use....gonna try the xtremeG 76.1's and 76.41's...now my questions is, do i have to unistall my current drivers before installing these? sorry its such a 'i should know' question but im used to omega's and the simplicity of one click and your done.

thanks in advance

Its always best to uninstall the old drivers then run driver cleaner pro from guru3d also before installing another version

The drivers will do this for you and make you reboot, so same difference. (2 reboots.)

See my report on Xtreme G 76.10 drivers here:

http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=73354

I was informed that 76.10 didn't work with Doom3, or was it 76.10 from laptopvide2go someone was referring to? I don't have Doom3 to try it. FarCry and benchmarks work very well though. I DID uninstall the previous driver first. During the installation, it looped twice saying that the adaptor wasn't recognised but on the third iteration (totally automatically) proceeded with the rest of the installation.

yeah plan on trying the 76.10's not worried about doom probs as they even state on guru3d that they sorted it for the xtreme G's....gonna literally try both and see what i get.

THanks for the info, man...didn't know someone had actually 'fixed' OpenGL support on teh 76.10's...Riddick and other OGL games don't run either, from what I can tell, with the ones from Nvidia (i.e. Laptopvideo2go)...I'm going to suck down the XtremeG's!

Contradicting myself guys... but here it comes.

I was puzzled why my FarCry was not switching itself over to ShaderModel path 3.0. Well, it had to do with XtremeG 76.10. I have downloaded 76.41 with the 30.68 .nfo file from laptopvideo2go.com and have now my personal best at quality (default) driver settings:

3DMark 2005 76.41 laptopvideo2go

Game Tests 3DMark Score: 5224
GT1 - Return to Proxycon 23.6 fps
GT2 - Firefly Forest 15.0 fps
GT3 - Canyon Flight 25.8 fps
CPU Tests CPU Score: 3842
CPU Test 1 1.8 fps
CPU Test 2 3.6 fps

What is better, I now have SM3.0 detected correctly in FarCry. I will be posting screenshots of the HDR lighting in FarCry on the HDR thread shortly.

Bottom line is: I would recommend now the 76.41 driver from laptopvideo2go.com.

Oh, okay...maybe I won't d/l the XtremeG's, since I'm using the 76.41's now and they are stable/working with everything...

the xg 7641 aint good enough?

I started with XG 76.51 and was getting 5015 3DMarks maximum and low Aquamark and 3DMark 2003 counts across the board. Then I went back to XG 76.10 getting 5214 3DMarks but problems in FarCry, and now in 76.41 stock, it is 5225, all is fine, touch wood.

Tried SC3 demo just now at all max 1920x1200--probably some lagging will be happening if there is lot of action. Does anybody know how to enable HDR in SC3 demo?
