Increase wireless range

Thread Starter
I have the 9860 with the internal wireless card. Is there a way to increase the range of this? I have heard of ways of doing it with external(i.e. antenna,...) but nothing with the internal. I need to be able to access the network that is in my building but I am only getting 1 bar if I am lucky and I lose it all the time.

I believe there is an unused antenna connection for an aux/second antenna. You could connect this to an external antenna. Go to http://www.fab-corp.com/ If you aren't sure which one you need, give them a call.

Also, make sure that the antenna is connect correctly inside your notebook. You'll have to take it apart a bit, but that could be the problem.

Hm ... I wonder if mine may be loose ... I get "Excellent" most all of the time, but it drops a lot ...

I ordered my 9860 without the internal wireless card and will be getting an external PCMCIA card instead.
