Problems with APR

When I take my 8600 off of the APR my touch pad mouse does not work correctly unless I restart the computer. The problem is with the scroll function. Never had any problems just umpluging the mouse from the computer before I began using the APR. Also the computer frooze/locked up today when reattaching it to the APR. These are the first problems I have encountered in the 10 months I have been using my 8600. Anyone have any sugestions????????

Thanks

uninstall and reinstall the APR driver...with that said, are you using the suspend mode for the removing the APR when you are removing it?

No I just lift it off the APR. Maybe I need to download the manual and read it. Are you supposed to use the suspend button before removing it from the APR?

I vaguely remember something like this being fixed in the newest version of the BIOS. Are you using a ps/2 mouse?

There should be a button in your start menu when you are docked, down next to log-off and shut down, that allows you to undock the system. Press this and wait for the message that it is safe to undock before removing the laptop rather than just pulling it off. Alternatively, the same function is served via a small button on the top of the APR next to the release button (it has a lighted pic of the laptop on the APR, with an arrow pointing up shown above it).

Thanks Stu. I'll give it a try. I have a Docking station for my Compaq and all I've ever had to do with it was just lift and go, then return it when finished. Never had a problem with that.
