7700 Lappy Review for half a week

So, after waiting all day for my laptop, I went through several phone calls and discovered that someone (unbeknownst to me) instructed them to hold it until the 5th of april, a week later, so I drove 25 minutes one way to pick it up after closing time (wasnt that fedex guy so generous!) because he sympathized with me. Well, I love it, even though it was in fedex's hands for over a week. Everything runs really smooth, which I attribute to the 2 gigs of ram. The specs are in my signature. Anyways, the first task was to run the benchmarks. I took screen shots of several benchmarks.

I dont know how to actually insert pics so someone should tell me.
All the latest games initially ran ok, but now for some reason they run really well. (these include half life 2, doom 3 and far cry.) Its a shame doom 3 doesnt support this resolution. ohh well. I attached the pictures because im a dumbass and don't know how to insert them to make them look pretty
THis lappy rocks and everything is really fast. If you have the option (or should i say, have the cash) opt for the 2 gigs because nothing will ever slow you down. You can put heapsizes up and it just plain puts your friends to shame when you have 1.7 gigs of free ram and they have 300 megs or maybe 700 if they have a gig installed. It runs warm, and sometimes hot. It seems best to place it on a table with the left end off slightly to let all of that hot air escape. I dont mind the handwarmer!!

i ordered feb 7th or 8th and picked up on the 29 of march
//edit
i also got 55000 something on aquamark, but will have the pics when i transfer the photos from my digi cam.

yeah I'll have to agree everyone told it was going to get really hot on the left hand side by the touchpad...and I really don't think it does...It get warm, but nothing to the point of scorching my hand

Only 3670 on 3DMark05? Thats a little low dont you think, did you shut down the background programs when you ran the test?

widescreengamingforum.com has a ton of info on how to get games that don't natively support widescreen running at native resolutions, including Doom3.

Here's a direct link to Doom3 widescreen support in the 9300/XPS2 forums:

Thanks for the review!

you must get somewhere around 5000 on 3dmark05, am I correct? This is for your laptop.
Thanks for the widescreen post, that was very helpful. I will definitely try it when I am not so busy playing CS:S
