Yeah, yeah, yeah.... And again--your proof? Specs? What does "huge" mean?

Anyway, I want to compare these 3 later when I have the time...

Odious_m: object is fine when the cursor is no where near it once the cursor touches the dock cpu usage shoots up to 100% and while the reported system memory usage is at 2mb the code has cleverly disguised up to 30mb of system memory usage into other process this has been proven by others.

*The 100% cpu usage on magnification and mouse over is a definate proven fact.
*the memory usage though Im a little skeptical on.
( I must stress the point however that Stardock products function differently on every computer an what I am saying here are based on my experiences with 3 different computers. Some have not seen this resource hog behavior from strdock products. I'd have to say the split is something like 70% with issues 30% without from all the posts I have seen containing info on stardock)

as for yz dock yes it out of development but the point of development it was stopped at was because of a cease and desist order from apple because it "emulated the osx dock to exactly" what lacks in features it makes up for in system resource usage the magnification code only requires 1% cpu usage and system memory usage is at 1mb or lower.

Rklauncher has all the features of yz but the developer has been in contact with apple to see which areas of development he can free roam in and which areas he must tread lightly in. There are many unique features planned to be added and although still in beta runs at twice the performance of object dock.

my final say if you want just the looks and many frilly extras go with object dock or object dock plus.

if you want a dock that closely emulates the osx dock go with yzdock

and if you want a dock that provides functionality, emulates the osx dock as much as legally possibly, has docklet support for both other docks, and is under contiual development go with RK

100%, eh? It's 18 to 22% on my rig.

Which others? Link please. I've googled this to death and I can't find anything reliable.

With all due respect, bud.... I already know that's BS (see above).

Sounds like your hedging there a bit, bud... Have you tried any Stardock products lately? Or is this all just ancient history?

Thanks bud, think I'll go with your recommendation here--OD it is.

well Im glad objectdock works fine for you and you enjoy using it. Overall thats whats important enjoying using the software you have on your computer.

I have just had bad experiences with stardock so I have strayed from using their products as for the versions I have used the latest build of object dock and windoblinds 4.5 were the last ones I bothered to try. There were many features I liked in both but the strain it put on my systems was enough to keep from enjoying those features.

I use y'z Dock, doesn't matter to me how much cpu usage it takes whenever I click on 1 of my icons that takes 1 second of 100% cpu usage.....................(sarcasm)

I could never pull myself away from having the good ol' taskbar. I feel so empty when it's hidden. So I decided to have double the fun with ObjectBar and my taskbar! ^^
My objectbar mainly holds major desktop shortcuts as well as the SysStats goodies and other fun fun stuff.
I also use a proggie called Free Launch Bar which is the (free) lite version of Fast Launch Bar. It let's your quick launch bar have menus. I hold all my games/utilities/programs in the quick launch area.

I my setup! (Oh, and my wallpaper roxorz joor'z!!!)

This place has the largest collection of stunning 1920x1200 backgrounds that I've seen. I will post pictures of some of my other favorites, if you like, before you go and fork over the dough to download them yourself.

You have to pay money for the site. Gorgeous photos though......

Where do you guys get the weather, calendar, clocks for the desktop?......
my laptop is all torn apart right now, but here is the picture I use on my gaming rig, the icons are all different now, that was shortly after a format .

I only use pictures that I took or was there when they were taken, sure the quality may not always be the best, but what's the point in looking at a picture of a car I will never own or a place I will never go.

The point is it looks "SWEET" as a background..
As far as your picture is concerned that mounted MG looks so CG'ed. I've been playing too much BF2 I suppose.
