Title says it all. I am expecting to order one in two weeks.

I thought PC Torque was evaluating one, but that was last week... wonder what their results were...

For those not familiar with the model, Sager 3750 as found on Sager's website.

Yeah, I would like to hear PCTORQUE's thoughts on this one as well.

Might be a good laptop to evaluate for the sales staff at work.

PCTorque's word

I PM'ed one of the staff -- can I post what he said here?

Sure, unless they don't want you to! However, seeing how they aren't carrying it or posting any further info causes me to guess that it doesn't live up to the high-power expectations of the typical PC Torque customer.

I think the shared video is what kills it...

PCTorque's Reply

Rice,
We've just finished testing it. The screen, in particular, is spectacular.. . .
That's what one staff person said. I think I am still going to order it as I am not much of a gamer and the long battery life and the screen size is more important to me. I will probably watch some DVD on it while I am flying trans-atlantic.

For anyone that wants to order, I think you have to call or email PCTorque directly.

I think PC Torque should put them up on the website in a section called "NOT FOR GAMERS" and have a clear disclaimer that, while the machines are very nice and top-notch, they are not designed for gaming (and why). I think there are plenty of folkes in your position that do not need/want a gaming righ, but would love a high-end Sager.

Just my $0.02 worth,

You're right

Yeah -- I think so too. I see PCTorque still has the 2720 on their web site. I don't think that's a gaming laptop, right? I can't imagine too many people ordering that laptop these days. If I want to game, I will probably do it on my desktop. Besides, my favorite game is Solitaire. Hahaha.

two more weeks till you order? dang....

just so you know, i've received my Prostar 8814... its kewl... wait... no... it gets pretty hot... but it rocks.

this monster trounces my desktop... except in hdd speed and size... i have 7200 RPM drives and they're 60, 80, and 80 GBs (yup 3 of em). verses the 40 GB 4200 rpm drive in the laptop.

If I had a choice . . .

I would have ordered it last week but I need the check from the good, ole student loan to help pay for the lappy so I have to wait two weeks. Sigh. Of course, I could put it on my credit card but that would mean I wouldn't be able to get the cash discount and I should save as much money as I can (for text and stuff) so I will have to wait two weeks. Sigh.......

i c... for me, because i work... or rather.. because i like my work... it's no big deal... 2% is nice.. but it's much harder for me to wait... than blow $44 (on nothing in particular). me having to wait for a check to clear isn't pleasant.

maybe if i felt my work was a drag.. then i'd prolly be more inclined to svae money... because i'd feel i worked too hard to simply blow it when i can save it just by waiting.

i've had weekends where $60 disappear in a blink of an eye... and i can't even recall why... oh wait... its my dang lame sister, who can't seem to buy anything on time for her restaurant... making me spend money.
