Yes, all of my research pointed toward the increasing possibility that this is the most reliable laptop out there. I have yet to come across people grumbling about serious problems, unlike most other brands. I've had nothing but problems with Gateway laptops. You might not believe me but I actually once threw a Gateway out a window (okay so I was writing my thesis and was highly stressed).
Toshiba have the most atrocious after sales service, I suggest avoiding them like the plague if you don't have a backup computer. We got a defective laptop from them and they went through the usual runarounds trying to deny anything was wrong with it for a few weeks, hoping we'd just stop bothering them and now that we finally proved to them that the motherboard was shorting, they took it and have had it for a few months and will not give us any idea of when it will come back. Toshiba is not a professional company. They try to sell you junk and then deny its junk and if you prove it to them, they hijack it from you and leave you wondering if you'll ever get it back. Needless to say, the BBB and Attorney general have been made aware of the problem and the next step is legal action.
My experiences with Dell have been better. Luckily, I never needed to use their services in terms of hardware support. But in general, they provide solid product and good, if somewhat inconsistent, support.
I have a feeling I won't have any problems with Sager. Crossing my fingers.
