What im trying to say is that buying Alienware systems all tricked out beforehand really dosnt require any skill other than getting the money to buy it in the first place. It just shows you have the money and you're willing to spend it.
IMO, being a computer enthusiast isnt all just about performance and having alot of money, it's also about originality and skill. Buying an Alienware might give u a whole heap of performance, but it wont give you the satisfaction of having built your own PC. Most of the parts in my PC have turned 2 years old now and im still not regretting what i bought, my PC is still my pride and joy, even though some of the new high end lappys can beat it pretty badly on benchmarks. I ceased to think about it purely in terms of performance (maybe yes when it was new) but more of a thing that i built up through alot of hard work and dedication.
If it were a prebuilt alienware, i wouldnt give a thought about selling it to the highest bidder and getting a new system, but i doubt i would sell this sytem, even when i get a new one.
Being an enthusiast isnt all about the hardware, it's about what you do with it.
