It works alright, I wouldn't call it "real-time" though. I have had problems with random crashes and unexpected quits by Motion, but I think I may have had my RAM configured wrong (in the wrong slots... not center out). So far, so god.

On the X800... I found this press release:

ATI’s RADEON® X800 XT Single Slot Graphics Solution for the Mac Powers Apple 30-inch Display

I wonder if the card might be so big that it blocks the other slots...

EDIT: After a little research, it looks like it only does take up one slot and I've read a lot of positive review by owners (1 2). The only draw back is that it cannot run a DUAL 30" Cinema Display setup (which I don't need) and a few have reported a hissing sound when the fan kicks past 50% (other say it is quiet though).

I think I'll pick one up. (here's a pic: ATI Radeon X800 XT)

I don't know if the radeons can do SLI, but if you got two of the nVidia 6800s you can link them together and improve performance even more.
