Attention Software Developers

Hi,

To those who write code for a living, and have bought a 9300/XP2....

What screen did you get? (Resolution)

How do you find the text size?

If you got the WUXGA, how do you find the glossy screen? What lighting environment(s) have you coded under?

Any other comments related to the laptops and writing code on them would be appreciated.

cheers!

1. 1920x1200
2. Fine
3. I find the screen to be glossy. I code under florescent(yeah, spelled wrong) lights.
4. I love this laptop.

How do you guys find the viewing angle? I occasionally have to show a colleague a piece of code and it's kind of hard to do that on my current 600m sxga+ screen. That's the screen I use for day-to-day coding. As long as I increase the text/code size, I can code on higher resolutions.

WUXGA
Text size is a little small, but good that so much fits on the screen.
I like the glossy screen there are some instances where the gloss is distracting, but there are more where it enhances. I code under florescent lights and also minimal light at home. The minimal light is better.

Other than that, like everyone says, the widescreen and the high resolution allow you to see more information on the screen. One full code window and a reference doc or execution window. Performance is pretty good if you get a top end processor and harddrive.
