.

I just got a call from my Dell Sales Guy Manager...

It turns on that one of the components had reached "end of life" and this is what put alot of orders out..

To resolve it, she had to cancel the order and re-process it. She reckons I should have the machine by Wednesday or Thursday

Please god

Most people's money would be on the screen or the hard drive (if you have the 60gb version)....

I called Dell Customer care

Unfortunately, he told me the following parts were currently delayed:
NV41
W5373
GHPHC 256MB

Fortunately, these numbers all represent one part: the graphics card.

They knew what part caused the delay? Wow - they never could tell me. So how does this affect the XPS 2?
kaks: My system had reached "end-of-life" on March, 25th - I don't know what glitch that is, but it's interesting that you only have it now. I don't believe the ETA for you I'm afraid...

Yeah I was doubting it too. My Sales Guy's Manager actually cancelled my existing order and put a brand new order through for me.. She knows I am livid with what is going on (I had cancelled a 9300 prior to this because the delivery time was extended by 2 weeks after already waiting 3 weeks) and I honestly do not think she would be arrogant enough to make such a promise without believing it herself.

The online order status for mine is back to showing Apr 22. It had vanished completely off the Online status which was why I phoned and was told jun 9th. Fingers crossed.

Just checked mine, now rock-solid on April, 14th since yesterday. In fact, my ETA just slipped two times, once from April, 13th to June,9th and then back to April, 14th. Not much fluctuation there, strange that others have it jumping all over the place.

Yeah checked mines and has been April 14th since friday. Lets hope Quark999 that that date holds steady for us.

Hope you lads get it on time!!!

Let's all hold hands and do the Dell rain dance In fact, I am already getting worried again, 1-2 days for shipping and it should already been in production - but there's hope that the online status is still f*d. After all, I don't remember anyone going through the proper building, testing, shipping states here in the UK, instead it just suddenly shipped for most of the others.

I don't want to wait until June, 9th, period.

Well it seems she lied

Cust care has offered to upgrade my 1 year warranty to 3 years NBD onsite and they have also offered me a 15% discount..

All in all, it makes it slightly more acceptable but I am still very annoyed with Dell.

Sorry to hear that, but 15% and 3 years NBD isn't too shabby either. But I still hate it when they lie to you only to fix it by some discount later on - why can't they just tell you the truth? Would save a lot of grey hair AND probably even save them money in the long run...
