Are you HAPPY wiht your i9300? - Page 3

First I want to say the 9300 is a great machine. I had some leak leakage at the bottom which at first didn't bother me. But since most of my DVD's are widescreen and I occasionally work with diagrams that are black background, it started to annoy me. If I didn't find a Sony A600 for $1400, I probably would've kept it. the Sony will definitely take a hit with the graphics card but for me, the percent of time used for the cards performance is nothing compared to me needing a great screen.

I'm very happy. All the screen stuff has been beaten to death already, so I will just keep it short and say I have the Samsung with Samsung characteristics. The graphics are great, the sound is great, and I can't stop buying new toys for it. So far got a netgear 108mbps router, mx510 mouse, targus bag, and transcend ram on the way. The only negative I can think of is that I should have gotten the 80gb instead of the 60gb, but thats only because I've installed so many games because they look so good. I've been glued to this thing for days. Yea, the screen takes some getting used to but that's mostly because I'm coming from a real crappy CRT with colors so dull that any change will need an adjustment. Awesome laptop and highly recommended!

Big thanks to joseyu for helpin me out with the purchase and everyone else that chimed in.

I had an i9300 for a few weeks, up until a few hours ago. I got lucky enough to get an iXPS2 with slightly better specs than my i9300 for only $100 more than I paid on the i9300.

The time I spent with the i9300 was great. Had the LG WUXGA screen and 60GB 7.2K drive. The screen was great. I could see the sparkle everyone complains about, but it doesn't bother me a bit and looks fine. The 7.2K RPM drive did have the clicking problem, but you really don't notice it unless you are in a quiet environment.

The i9300 is great. I'd still be happy and content with the i9300, if the iXPS2 offer didn't come up.

friggin' LOVE MY 9300!!!

I'd ditch my main rig, if I didnt have 3 kids.

love mine too! especially pleased with the screen and superb gaming performance, had I known this is such a good tool, I would've spent a little more to get the XPS2 though (because you can never have a fast enuogh vidcard). Still, the 9300 has blown me away and I see myself already using it more than my desktop (which is a XP 3500+ & 6800GT)

The laptop is 95% Very Fast and Silent, I put in an Seagate momentus and use fangui

Its Dell customer service that is shite

I would go for an XPS2 just for the extra power of the go, and just for that guy thing of it being the better model - read faster etc

But it only comes with the WUX screen and my old eyes wont cope with that resolution

..vey interested in taking a look at that Fujitsu 17" laptop when its released soon

Amazed at the size of it, and the weight too. This thing is massive!

My box included a ton of cds (I think like 6 or more) came with Windows, driver cd, etc etc, manuals blah blah blah.

The 10% i'm not sure about is the light leakage on top and bottom of screen (nothing too major but still, I dunno I think this forum brainwashed me). My old Sony laptop doesnt have light leakage at all, so hmmmmmmmm don't know...
I dont really see sparkles, maybe a bit of a sheen but, you'd have be like really close up to the screen? It's actually quite a sexy screen otherwise!

Oh, I wouldnt trust the Dell tracking system at all. My status is stuck on order confirmed still. And BaxGlobal page just says Customs Cleared. If you really wanna know where your box is, give them a call on the phone...

Tried 3dmark, I don't know too much about scores,
but something like 2980's just out of the box.
Anyway, all in all, good machine, very good

Now what to do with that light leakage hmmmmmmm...
I got like 3 CD's how did you get 6? What are the 6 CD's?
