Shipping dates?

Any Idea if this comment from Laura will impact the 2 week shipping estimate from PCTorque?

"Today is the last day this week that 5680s and 8890s are shipping due to stock. Sager expects a shipment on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and they will start shipping again then. Tracking numbers for today's orders will go out tomorrow morning."

I ordered on the 11th of september so I was hoping that it will be 2 weeks from then (25th?)

Whatcha think O great and wise shipping gurus?

the 2 week shipping estimate...is just that, an estimate. it all depends on what they have on hand at that time. nothing is guaranteed right since the 5680's just came out and there is a bunch of pre-orders waiting to be fulfilled. its all first come first served.

Its all in the hands of the great Sager gods. I am in the same boat unpilot.

I hope you sacrificed at least 10 vestal virgins and several goats at your local UPS office , because if you didn't ....

Well Ausie what I did was make sure I was standing on my left foot while I threw a dead chicken over my right shoulder as I pressed the order button. So I think I am probably ok.

I ordered a 8890 so I hope the shipping delays are related to the 5680...(sorry to those guys who ordered that)

/me crosses his fingers and says, "I worry less so on the expedition of my new 5680 to be delivered, but more so on the chance of it having dead pixels."

/me kneels and prays to the no-dead-pixel-God, "I pray to you no-dead-pixel-God, that I may receive my brand new Sager 5680 without any dead pixels, but ONLY if that is what you desire."

/wink

/me knocks on wood

and now for the no-dead-pixel-God dance!

I knew I should have thrwun that dead chicken over my left shoulder

Adam said "The 8890 systems are low on LCDs. Sager said basically all the laptop companies out there are having trouble getting these 16" LCDs. They are shipping what they can as first come first serve as the supplies come in."

I can't take a delay

We had all better be careful.
With all these dead sacrificed bananas around it is going to get mighty slippery out there .

I had better sacrifice an extra banana to the angry LCD supply god .

8890 shipping date

Hi Unpilot,
PC torque received my wire transfer for my order of the 8890 on Sept 9th.
After hearing last week about the delay to this Wednesday, and now reading yesterday about the lcd shortage... to be honest I don't expect to see mine till October 1st - ish easily and I ordered 2 days before you!
Frig. I'm going on a cruise next week and wanted it for that, but oh well.

Hi, I am totally new to the sagerforums but I wanted to introduce myself. Hi!

I have been lurking here for around a month researshing notebooks reading your comments and then finally making a decision and going with a 5680. I ordered sep. 2 and just got my tracking number! So I am very very very happy. These forums are great and pctorque has been great through the order process.

Thank you very much pctorque you guys know how to make a customer happy and I would look nowhere else in the future.

Now It seems that the tradition is to sacrifice some nana's for the dead pixel gods........I'm a fisherman and superstition is not something to mess with, god forbid your boat is blue, you sit on the washboard and NEVER ever whistle onboard.... Now o great god of pixels I over thee bananas in homage to you
