Hello.
I think I'm going to install Gentoo/AMD64 on my AF3200, and was wondering if anybody have any experiences of this?
Drivers? WLAN, CPU scaling, ACPI etc.

not really with that laptop .. but I run gentoo on all my pc's so I would be happy to help you out with any problems...
I sugest if you havent done already to register on the gentoo.org forums and post there if you run in to problems..

I'll be able to set up mostly everything except for ndiswrapper (never used it before!).
ndiswrapper is the only solution for the Broadcom WLAN, but theres WinXP 64bit drivers for it, so it should work ok?

NDISWrapper has come a long way. I've used it since version 0.3, although I stopped in December as I didn't have the need for wireless anymore.

Okay, but it works on 64bit with 64bit WinXP drivers? (I know there are WinXP 64bit Broadcom WLAN drivers!)

Doubt it. Check the project documentation.

ndiswrapper works for me

I have an eMachines m6805 with Broadcom wireless. I have Kanotix 64 bit linux installed. Using the Windows 64 bit broadcom drivers with ndiswrapper (version 2.6.10 that comes in the install) is what I am using to post this. I think that the accelerated radeon drivers will work with your 128 MB 9700 too. (Not absolutely certain, because mine is 64 MB 9600 mobility.) Check out my install info in the Gateway/eMachines peer support section.

check out this thread on the gentoo forums for more information on ATI 3d acceleration and AMD64

CPU scaling also works very well. Just turn on the powernow options as well as the cpu frequency govenor options in the kernel
