FM radio receiver for Ipod mini

Hey guys.

Having just ordered one of the new 6GB Ipod Mini's (my Muvo2 5GB didn't survive a trip down the stairs... luckily I was able to plead a refund, and am going with this more sturdy MP3), I am looking for an FM receiver. I know you can get the ITrips and that, but they only transmit, I want to be able to listen to radio on my Ipod rather than send my music to a radio.

So, having not been able to find one when ordering at apple.com.au, or anywhere else, I come to the good people of NBF for a hand . Does anyone know of a decent RM receiver that I could plug into the headphone jack of the Ipod, the perhaps the radio built into the headphone cord. I would prefer that it then acts as a remote (ie: plug your own headphones into the radio which connects to the Ipod)... but if the radio is a headphones and receiver in one then that would be cool too.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Stu

"Listen to FM on your iPod" is a bit of a misnomer. It's more like, "plug this FM radio into your iPod and listen to it through the iPod's headphones."

If you don't need the remote, or the FM transmitting capability, you can pick up an AM/FM radio that is about the same size, for under $10.

lol, well sakor may have forgotten but hey, I'm still hangin. Haven't been able to find the 'tunestir' anywhere yet... and no luck on finding any other headphone radio that would be suitable . I love my ipod but it's a pretty silly oversight to not have included some kind of receiver...

yea ipod is all hype, I got mines for free thats why i dont care, there are better mp3(iriver) out there that can do what the ipod does plus more for about the same price

Well I already got Ipod mini . For the price, there was not a better option in terms of capacity, size and battery life than the 6GB model when I got it. But I just miss the FM feature and still have yet to find something suitable...

I have tried almost everything with my ipod, i own the itrip and the casset player adapter and the quality in the casset is a lot better depending upon where you antenna is in the car, my car has the rear window antenna, I have better reception in my trunk than in my front seat, the best overall though would have to be the CD Changer adapter, i mean come on we paid 350 for our ipods lets listen to their true quality, the whole reason why I gave up on casset and CD's
